Top Tips for Planning an Autumn Wedding

Autumn weddings are simply beautiful and your wedding photography can create timeless memories marking your beautiful wedding in your beautiful surrounds. By using the natural autumn lighting and scenery your wedding will be simply divine.

Times:

The first thing to remember is that an autumn sunset can be absolutely magical with the gorgeous orange and red hues from the sun bouncing off the fallen leaves. Look up the time the sun will begin to set on your wedding day and plan around that. The sun will be beginning to set earlier in the day and you want to make sure you have the optimal times for gorgeous photography before you lose your light for the day. You want to take full advantage of what Mother Nature has to offer.

Scenery:

Scout your wedding location before the big day. Take your partner on a stroll around the vicinity and find some beautiful places to take photos. Are there any large trees around? Mark them out in a planner and take note of the leaves beginning to fall. Imagine your wedding photography and what it could look like in available space and with the gorgeous scenery.

The week before your wedding go back again and see how things have changed with the autumn leaves falling and the gorgeous sunset lighting. It’s amazing how different a place can look in a different season and you want to be fully prepared before the day.

Weather Changes:

As the sun is setting earlier and the temperature is cooling you’ll want to be fully prepared with a gorgeous wrap or shawl to cover your shoulders so you don’t get chilly taking your scenic photography or even at the reception. It’s not necessary that you wear the shawl during your ceremony if you don’t want to, but make sure you’re prepared for the cooler evenings. The last thing you want to feel on your wedding day is cold!

Themes:

If you’re having an autumn wedding you may like to match your theme with your chosen season. Having a rustic look with robin egg blue or a gorgeous bronze and brown coupled with natural tortured willow and seasonal fruits will suit your wedding to a tee and enhance all of the natural beauty of the season.
